Tamir Hitman is an artist manager, music director and songwriter. He works on the part of an artist's career that the audience never sees, and he has been doing it long enough to be unsentimental about what works.

Why television matters here
A lot of managers have never had to make a musical decision against a broadcast clock. Music direction for a national television format is a strange and useful apprenticeship. You learn to hear a song the way three million people will hear it once, on a Tuesday, half paying attention. You learn which arrangement survives a live mix and which one only works in the studio. You learn how casting decisions are really made, and by whom, because you are in the room while they are made.
That is the same instinct a Eurovision entry needs. Three minutes, one performance, an audience that has never heard of the artist and owes them nothing.
The European thread
He studied Music Management and Strategy at IMM Paris, which is where the European half of this career starts. It led to French-language work: the lyric adaptation of the French version of Israel's 2013 Eurovision entry, and creative work on the French version connected with the 2012 Junior Eurovision project. There has been live work in Europe since, including Berlin, alongside professional activity in Canada and the Philippines.
The current ambition is straightforward. Move the centre of gravity of this work toward Germany and the German-speaking market, where the audience for the kind of artist he develops is largest and where Eurovision is still taken seriously as an industry event rather than a curiosity.
Teaching
He lectures and mentors at Ono Academic College on the music industry, runs workshops, and has advised performers and social media artists on how to turn attention into something durable. Explaining the work to people who are about to enter it keeps the reasoning honest.
